PET program offers job training for prisoners

The program "Pets helping people" nonprofit graduated ten women on Monday night.?The program is designed to help women move from prisons in society, something the voice of women would not be possible without the unconditional love of dogs.

Engineer becomes pet therapist through floral remedies

Some of you may know Don Hanson as one of the owners of the store's Green Acres Farm, or maybe you heard his voice giving tips for pets "Woof Meow Show" on the radio. It might also be one of many happy dog and parents of cat which have benefited from the experience of Don treat animals with Bach flower remedies. You may not know is that Don was a building of Maine and the animal business.

Don was born and raised in Wisconsin. After an education in engineering and science, he worked for 17 years in the medical device industry. Don had 17 years of age before he had his first dog, curiosities, but a few years later he became in inextricably to the animal world when he married Paula, a technical veterinarian and animal life lover. Soon, devotion to animals gift matched of Paula, and both decided to follow a new path together, must start at a kennel.

"Paula me dragged out a four-day homeopathy seminar, and was much less skeptical about the end," he said.

Don interest in training animals spread an avid fascination with treatments and therapies in animal behavior. Gus improvement through nutrition made an impression on Don, but he was particularly intrigued by a specific therapeutic treatment called Bach flower remedies. Don had ever heard of remedy rescue, a combination premixed floral remedies by Bach that was in the market, and recommended a friend whose dog was exhibiting destructive signs of separation anxiety. The remedy worked spectacularly, but rescue remedy was only the tip of the iceberg. Don began to study natural 38 remedies discovered by Dr. Edward Bach in England almost a hundred years ago and has become a local expert in the treatment of problems of behaviour with the Bach remedies.

The Bach remedies are used in various combinations to treat individual cases. There are treatments for humans and animals and Don has studied some of both, but its focus is on dogs and cats.

In December 2003 he became the first registered animal practitioner of Bach Foundation or BFRAP, in the United States and has continued updating its training since then. He is an avid continuing education believer and is in constant search for innovative ways to teach others - through writing, blogs, radio, and conferences.

Don kennel is the focus of his work, but he has come to national and international levels to help pets and their families.

In an article in 2006 by the Association of Pet dog trainers, Don writes: "Bach flower essences are not used to treat physical illness, but rather the emotional state of the patient." "It can be used to help solve the fear and anxiety, anger, pain and many other emotions."

Reduce stress, explains, "has the potential to positively affect our immune system and thus help in the maintenance of physical health".

Don works closely with veterinarians, animal behavioral and homeopathic veterinarians in the treatment of canine patients and their families. He has found great satisfaction in helping to improve the wonderful environment relationships that so many people's treasures.

Darnell Dockett wants to bring his pet alligator to training camp

I think we’ve discovered what might be holding up this NFL labor deal. Cardinals’ defensive end Darnell Dockett has a pet alligator, as you know. For a while we were wondering if he’d be in trouble for this, as alligators are illegal to keep as pets without a permit in both Arizona and in Florida, where he lives in the offseason. But it appears that Dockett isn’t too concerned about this. In fact:

The Arizona Cardinals defensive end announced on Twitter he’s bringing his pet with him to camp. Dockett, who’s started every game the past five years for the Cardinals and has an ongoing streak of 81 consecutive starts during the regular season, said he’s bringing Nino, his pet alligator with him. In fact, Dockett is getting his little friend with a big mouth his own bed.

You may not want to take this too literally, however. Dockett also says in his Twitter profile that he eats ants and has an addiction to midgets.
